ALL-FOR-REEF is an easy- to-use, highly concentrated solution for the supply of ALL essential minerals and trace elements in new or moderately stocked reef aquariums.

Minerals are consumed through the growth of organisms and other processes in the aquarium and must therefore be supplemented regularly. These include mainly the necessary elements calcium, magnesium and strontium and carbonate hardness elements for the growth of the calcareous skeletons of stony corals, red coralline algae and other reef organisms. ALL FOR REEF contains all these components in highly concentrated form and also contains the most important trace elements: Iodine, bromine and fluorine for growth and stabilization of the skeletons of stony corals, sponges and crustaceans; selenium to eliminate free radicals; molybdenum and vanadium for the establishment of important enzyme complexes.

With these components, co-ordinated in their concentration ratio, ALL-FOR-REEF creates excellent care conditions in only one solution. No additional compounds are created (e.g. sodium chloride) that alter the salinity or the ion balance.

How to use:

The 800 g dose of All-For-Reef Powder is enough for 5 litres of dosing solution, the 1600 g dose is enough for 10 litres of dosing solution.

Start with a daily dose of 5 ml of ALL-FOR-REEF per 100 litres (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume. Increase the daily dosage – by continuous control of the alkalinity – weekly by 2.5 ml per 100 litres (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume, until a constant carbonate hardness of 7 to 9 °dH is reached.

Do not exceed a maximum daily dose of 25 ml of ALL-FOR-REEF per 100 litres (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume.

How to use:

To achieve a salinity level of 32-35 ‰ (psu), dissolve 35 ml of Tropic Marin^® PRO-REEF per liter or approximately ½ cup of Tropic Marin^® PRO-REEF per US gallon water. Dissolve almost all of the salt in a clean container already filled with the full volume of RO/DI water at a temperature of 73-77°F / 23-25°C while circulating/stirring the water. Do not concentrate the mixture by adding the full amount of salt to a smaller amount of water.

Note: Always add the salt to the water, never the water to the salt.  Making a concentrated mixture will cause a calcium carbonate precipitate to form.

When you have added ALMOST all of the salt and the mixture is fully dissolved and clear, start measuring the specific gravity with a hydrometer or similar instrument. Keep adding small amounts of salt until the specific gravity is the value you desire. The specific gravity of the sea salt solution should range from 1.025 to 1.027 (at 73-77°F / 23-25°C) and the pH-value should be in the range of 8.0 – 8.4. If all parameters ​​are correct, the salt water is ready to use.

After setting up a new aquarium it takes a few weeks of water being circulated and correct lighting conditions to achieve the biologically stable environment required for the care and breeding of delicate marine organisms.

A weekly, partial water change, replacing 10 % of the total water volume with Tropic Marin^® PRO-REEF, will help to maintain the water quality that your livestock needs for good health.

Activated carbon to combat yellow matter and harmful substances

Yellow matter and harmful substances have an adverse effect on the conditions in an aquarium. The water needs to be free of yellow matter if the light is to be allowed to penetrate unfiltered to the corals, plants and fish and bring out their natural colors. Tropic Marin^® CARBON is a highly efficient activated carbon with a powerful capacity for adsorbing yellow matter and harmful substances without releasing excessive amounts of phosphate and silicate. After just a short period of use a clear improvement can be seen in the water thanks to the removal of yellowing substances and pollutants. Aquarium inhabitants benefit from the improved amount of light and are restored to their natural colors.

Nitrates and phosphates are stabilized at the lowest possible levels, especially effective when Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance is applied together with Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets or NP-Bacto-Tricks.

Use aof Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance:
Dosing depends on the age of the aquarium:
In the case of new and young tanks (0-1 years old*) no more than 0.25 ml per 100 l/25 US-Gal. tank content should be added per day. In tanks of a medium age (1-2 years old*) up to 0.5 ml per 100 l/25 US-Gal. can be dosed per day, whilst mature tanks (>2 years old*) can receive from 0.5 to 1 ml for 100 l/25 US-Gal. aquarium water per day. A dosage of 1 ml per 100 l/25 US-Gal. tank content per day should not be exceeded under any circumstances.

In order to enhance the effect of Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance, however, the dosage may be increased every 2 weeks by 0.25 ml per 100 liters/25 US-Gal. of aquarium water daily, in no case more than the maximum daily dose of 1 ml each 100 l/25 US-Gal. of aquarium system water volume. For best results, add Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance to a high water flow area in the tank at the beginning of the lighting cycle. Attention: A dosage of 1 ml each 100 l/25 US-Gal. of aquarium system water volume must not be exceeded. If a clouding of the tank is observed after the elevation of the dosage of Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance, the dosage should be reduced to the previous level.

Liquid concentrate for supplying important nutrients for corals

In order to thrive, corals require certain minimum concentrations of phosphates and nitrogen compounds for their metabolism and the metabolism of their zooxanthellae. Aquariums that are very low in nutrients (ULNS = ultra low nutrient system) are particularly prone to a lack of these compounds.

Tropic Marin^® Plus-NP provides these phosphates and nitrogen compounds in concentrations that are tailored to the corals’ needs. As they are bound by an organic energy source, nitrogen and phosphates can be utilized by corals more efficiently than inorganic nutritional salt additives. This approach minimizes the loss of nutrients caused by denitrification and adsorption, prevents nutrient deficiency in the corals and restores growth.

The liquid concentrate Plus-NP is easy to use and is suitable both for manual dosing and for dosing pumps.

How to use:

Turn the pump head counterclockwise until it pops out. Add 1 ml (1 pump-full) to every 100 l/26 US-gal. of aquarium system volume every day until the nutrient limitation in the corals has been rectified and the corals display a normal level of growth and coloration.

Stimulates coral growth, intensifies colouring and reduces phosphate in the reef aquarium biologically

Pale or brownish corals are often caused by too weak a concentration of easily digestible nitrogen compounds. Tropic Marin^® Amino-Organic contains amino acids and other organic nitrogen compounds that stimulate the growth of soft and leather corals, as well as disc disc anemones and zoanthids. This results in greater absorption, by the anthozoans, of the phosphate available from the water, biologically reducing phosphate concentrations.  These near-natural conditions result in the anthozoans opening better, visibly flourishing, with greater vitality and a more intense colouring. Tropic Marin^® Amino-Organic does not contain nitrates or phosphates.

Recommended dosage Tropic Marin Pro-Tect:
10 ml of Pro-Tect will efectively treat 100 l of aquarium water. Dosage may be increased to 20 ml per 100 l without any harmful effects. It is recommended a minimum of 10% water change every two weeks.

Cleaning iodine dip for corals

New corals often introduce unwanted organisms, parasites and/or impurities into the aquarium, which can endanger the old coral population.

Tropic Marin^® Coral Clean reliably removes the most common epiphytes, parasites and impurities in an easy-to-use bath. The animals that fall off allow immediate monitoring of success that shows whether further baths are necessary.

Tropic Marin^® Coral Clean is phosphate-free and less aggressive than other forms of cleaning baths such as Lugol’s solution or fresh water.

How to use:

A glass or plastic container, which holds the coral during the treatment, is filled with sea water from the aquarium. 1 ml Tropic Marin^® Coral Clean is dosed into the prepared container per 100 ml water and mixed well with the water. The new coral is fully immersed in this short bath and left for ten to fifteen minutes. Before the coral is put back into the aquarium, the coral should be shaken lightly in the bath to shake off any deposits and undesirable adhering organisms.

Coral crabs should be carefully removed before treatment and placed back in the coral after treatment. The water quality of the aquarium should be checked regularly to maintain the health of the corals.

Note: In some cases it can take up to two days for the coral to open fully again after the bath.

Dose Tropic Marin Elimi-NP into the flow of the pump to ensure proper distribution throughout the aquarium.

Maximum dose: A daily dose of 0.5 ml per 100 l (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume should not be exceeded. The concentration of phosphate in the reef aquarium should only be lowered slowly to avoid possible adjustment stress in the organisms. At the same time, the nitrate-phosphate ratio should not exceed 10:1.

Application Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Mineral:
Add 5 g (approx. 1 level measuring spoon) each week per 50 liters/13 US Gal. of aquarium water. This increases the proportion of strontium to approx. 1.5 mg per liter and iodine to approx. 0.075 mg per liter. One can with 250 g is sufficient for approx. 2,500 liters/660 US Gal. The recommended maximum dosage is 2 measuring spoons a week per 50 liters/13 US Gal. Under no circumstances should this dosage be exceeded and it only applies to the exclusive use of Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Mineral. Application: Fill the enclosed measuring spoon with Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Mineral (levelling spatula is included). Tropic Marin Pro-Coral Mineral should be added in the filter/sump area of the aquarium at a sufficient distance from the pump, in order to prevent any undissolved crystals from coming into contact with the coral.

Tropic Marin Bio-Strontium is made for the biologically ideal strontium supplement in reef aquariums. A sufficient supply of strontium is as essential for the growth and well-being of reef building corals as calcium. In the reef aquarium, the strontium concentration can drop rapidly to low values due to biological processes, precipitation and incorporation into the limestone skeleton. Tropic MarinBio-Strontium creates a natural environment in the aquarium and delivers strontium and carbon dioxide in a natural, biologically-available, powdered form and thus supports the healthy development of coral. Application of Tropic Marin Bio-Strontium:

Wait for each spoonful to dissolve completely before adding the next.

One level measuring spoon increases the strontium level of 10 US Gal./37 l by about 2 ppm (= 2 mg/l). The natural concentration of seawater is 8 ppm (= 8 mg/l). In a reef aquarium the concentration of strontium decreases quickly through biological processes, precipitation and the use in the calcareous animals. A basic dosage of 1 level measuring spoon per 50 US Gal./190 l every two weeks is recommended. In an aquarium with a high population, the dosage can be as much as 1 level measuring spoon per 50 US Gal./190 l each week. High strontium concentrations in the aquarium may damage corals. Always be sure to monitor the strontium concentration.
